Mid week update

Filed under: Canada, Fishing, Kayak — K2 in Canada @ 7:34 AM

Tuesday night races had started 3 weeks ago. I missed the first one due to my hurt back. Last weeks race was a time trial and I managed to put in a reasonable time given no training all winter. This week Jeff and I took our double out – man that was hard. We came in fifth overall – ok performance given that we used to fight for top spot a few years back when we both trained but it was a fun race rearing in the boats from behind. Deep Cove Outdoors always takes videos at the races and you can go to the pub afterwards to watch it. This time one of the paddlers even ut it up to YouTube for the world to enjoy. Watch for a white double surfski with Jeff with a yellow hat and dark olive-green shirt and me in the back with a white shirt.

Now that it is spring and Jeff all has to worry about is what’s for dinner at night he started the fishing season early this year. But the lakes are not that cooperative yet. So he has been fishing the local rivers for Steelhead and actually is catching quite a few. Somebody once told me you have to get sooo lucky to catch one. Now that somebody comes back with stories about big chrome fish…. I requested some pictures to proof it. They sure are beautiful fish…
