Back to the Foggy Weekend – Oct 20

Filed under: Canada, Fishing — K2 in Canada @ 6:59 PM

I had already complained about the fog rolling in in time for the weekend a couple of weeks ago… but we did manage to escape it on the Sunday. Apparently it would have been quite easy by just going up Grouse Mountain. Jeff and I though headed up the valley for another salmon fishing outing. It was beautiful on the river. Even though it started out foggy, blue sky and sunshine arrived by 10AM – although it never got quite as warm as on the top of Grouse. Apparently it got over 20C up there – fall temperature inversion, hence the fog in the city which was around 10-12C. The fishing started slower than the week before even though the foggy conditions should have helped. Jeff got into a couple and landed one. I only hooked into a dead fish – yuck. But by noon all sudden fishing was on and we got into a few really good size Coho. Fished till sunset and went home again with another 2 fish for the freezer :-). Actually we ate half of one that night. Fish so fresh is just the BEST!
