Travel Theme: Yellow

Filed under: Travel Theme — K2 in Canada @ 7:24 PM

Sunshine all week long in Vancouver and Ailsa picked the perfect theme for it. Check out her blog: http://wheresmybackpack.com/2014/02/07/travel-theme-yellow/ . Until I realized that all my sunshine shots are either shades of orange and purple as in sunsets or white as in daytime shots. I found one that may look more yellow.

I am surrounded by yellow every day mind you – after we painted our living room that colour a couple years ago. It’s great to start each day with sunshine no matter what it looks like outside :-). It doesn’t show nicely on pictures though. But when looking through my photos I noticed that our home away from home is yellow as well and I posted a couple examples below.

I kept looking for more. Obviously there are lots or yellow flowers. They use the colour to attract the attention of insects. As it happens most of my flower picture also have insects in them. All of the below were taken somewhere in BC.

But not only flowers use yellow to attract attention. Humans do as well. Here are a couple from examples from traveling the world.

Sometimes yellow seems to be the only colour when I am outdoors on an overcast day. Maybe that’s why I love paddling my boat so much as we have LOTS of overcast days in BC.
