Merry Christmas

Filed under: Canada, Home — K2 in Canada @ 10:03 AM

What a great Christmas Eve. A sunny day, not too cold. Only regrets that I could not take more advantage of it. Was “working” till noon ending the work day with a nice spiked ice coffee treat by my colleague Carlos. Then went for a walk along the river with Jeff for about an hour before digging into cleaning up the place (Jeff’s parents were coming), decorating our “giant” of a tree and prepping for the Raclette dinner that evening. It has been a while since we were home for Christmas so it was nice and didn’t really feel like housework at all. We could not get any Raclette cheese this year so we just bought a variety of cheeses from Swiss to Cheddar to Mozzarella to Brie – to represent all the cheese countries. And it worked out well! The funniest part, the rest of my family in Germany was also having Raclette just about 9 hours earlier than us :-).

Merry Christmas to all!

The tree will eventually be planted at one of our favourite lakes since my tree from 4 years ago had just died on our balcony this summer.

  1. Merry Christmas to you two! The tree and the raclette (something I like, but have only ever eaten in Holland) look lovely!
