Saturday was another gorgeous day. The cherry trees in our complex have been in full bloom for over a week already.

We were a bit slow to get going giving the air some time to warm up. We took the surfskis again to Deep Cove. Instead of going up the arm we headed south towards Burrard Inlet though. It was pretty calm – way less motorboat wash – and we made it all the way into the Seymour River with the tide being near its peak. Can’t get far up the river though before one hits the first rocky section. On the way back to the Cove the wind picked up just enough to give us a nice push back. The scenery is a bit more industrial than going up the arm but otherwise a nice paddle

In the afternoon I took Jeff to show him the hummingbirds. But off course it wasn’t in the first tree where I saw it the last two weekends. Nevertheless we found one soon enough – and not only one. There were 3 of them chasing each other high into the sky. Not as easy to take pictures mind you. Further down the trail we found another one and maybe even a nest although it looked too big. On the way back we were surprised to spot an eagle sitting in plain sight on the log booms. They usually prefer the tall trees.
