Recovery weekend

Filed under: Canada, Hike, Kayak — K2 in Canada @ 8:05 PM

Sorry for the long silence. We are just too busy all spring long. This was the fist weekend we spent at home since mid April – at least for me. Jeff took off for a couple days – lucky him and his 4 day work week but was back Sat night. I had to get a wisdom tooth pulled yesterday and had to be in town. Everyone told me those horror stories about getting a wisdom tooth pulled… it took all of 20min and 19 of those was talking about all the things that could happen. At the end the tooth came out without problem – the dentist didn’t even want to give me a prescription for pain killers :-). And it hardly hurt at all. Just eating and drinking was a bit tricky with the gauze in my mouth.

I took it easy Sat afternoon as I already got a bike ride to the lake in and a short paddle in the AM. Our club had an Open House Day and the dock was busy which was great to see. Well the weather could not have been better. Spent the afternoon reading, getting a hair cut, walking along the river, cleaning the house and grocery shopping …

Today we went for a recovery hike – just 5hrs of up and down from Cypress Bowl to Unnecessary Mtn. We have done this hike a few times. Good early season hike although the weather has been so fantastic all of May and June – sun & warm -that one can hardly call this early season. And indeed there was absolutely no snow up there. Hardly any standing water. This will be a VERY dry summer for us unless there will be some serious rain. None in the forecast for the next 14 days though. Maybe the odd sprinkle here and there.

I will try to catch up on all those fishing adventures – did a cool week-long trip to the Cariboo. Stay tuned!
