The in between skiing and fishing month of April

Filed under: Canada, Kayak — K2 in Canada @ 10:45 PM

What a beautiful week we had – sunshine and warm. 19C on Friday – unfortunately the only day I made it out of work in time to go for a paddle at the lake. But there were some awesome sunsets on my rides home from work most of the week.

This is also the time of the year were I get to drag Jeff out for paddling more often than not on weekends. The in between skiing and fishing month of April. Today we went to Locarno Beach. The wind was not as calm as last weekend when we left home but with the wind out of the east and south I was hoping the water in English Bay would stay relatively flat. And it was just a little bumpy out there with some minor wind gust out of the east. Nevertheless, playing it save we paddled towards and around False Creek. On a blue sky day like this is a very pretty paddle even though it’s in the heart of the major city.

  1. I did that paddle recently! It was really fun and a perfect weather day despite the rain forecast.
