Eagle time – the classic way

Filed under: Canada — K2 in Canada @ 7:15 AM

Last Sunday was supposed to be a mix bag weather wise day but we managed to get quite a bit of sun and no rain. We went eagle watching on the Harrison. Took out our good old dust-collecting Accord double to put some fishing gear in it just in case. We haven’t paddled that boat in quite a while but it felt okay. Going up against the current was tricky in spots but when you didn’t look down to see how fast you were going sideways rather than forward it was all good. Saw a decent amount of eagles, on trees or the ground but never got near enough for the small camera to take good pictures. Found a creek we paddled up a bit that was just choked with Chum salmon spawning. Great to see that some salmon species seem to have a great year for returns. A beautiful, lazy paddling day out in the valley.
