Finally, after 2 month of rain and solid grey skies – or so it seems – we were treated with a sunny day today. Blue skies, the odd puffy white cloud, gorgeous! As predicted we headed to Callaghan Valley today to ski. -2C and blue skies. Grooming was excellent even though not all trails were open yet. I didn’t have the best grip with my crowns but that was mostly the skier and not the skies. Nevertheless, I made it up to Lunch Lake twice. Skied for 3hrs to soak in as much sun as I could. Definitely not setting any speed records, just happy to be out there.

On the way home we stopped in at Brackendale to check if the eagles are starting to show up. Unfortunately, the Squamish River was already in the shade but there were about 10 or so bald eagles gorging themselves on dead salmon. Yummy. I opted for a Mediterranean Wrap and a “Dark Matter” beer at the Shady Tree instead :-). What an awesome day.

Not that the Indian Arm paddle yesterday in the light drizzle was all that bad but…. see for yourself.
