I really like ancient things, ruins, extinct empires, etc but somehow I don’t come across many on my travels – yet. As usual it’s mostly about nature and animals and some not too too ancient native history in BC. But some day I will visit a rain forest in search of some ancient runs. This moss only grows a few milimeters each year – they are more than a couple meters long. Do the math, that’s pretty old for a small plant. Elaho River Valley, BC

Stromatolites – Hamelin Bay, Western Australia. Those mounts are build by the oldest living organism on earth, cyanobacteria. They only survive in water with a high saline content.

King Fern, Carnarvon NP, Queensland. This fern has not change since the dinosaurs.
