We do this for fun …

Filed under: Canada, Home — K2 in Canada @ 11:00 PM

Saturday was one of those really wet, miserable, cold, windy October days – kinda what October is usually like. And what did we do?

I went for a K1 workout on Burnaby Lake – luckily the wind was coming straight down the lake but it made for a few slow workouts into the wind. Good thing I am not working on speed but power right now 🙂

Jeff went fishing at the Harrison all day. Left in the dark and came back in the dark. Only got into a couple of fish all day.

Sunday on the other hand was one of those nice October days we only get very few off – temperature came up by 5C  to make it a nice balmy 12C and the sun poked through the clouds more often than not. And what did we do?

I went for a coached K1 workout on Burnaby Lake. Even rode my bike up there and back. It was a MUCH more pleasant paddle. In the afternoon I went for a walk in a nearby park – Everett Crowley – to enjoy some more beautiful fall colors.

Jeff went fishing all day. Left in the dark but was back by 4:30PM. Almost unheard off early for him. But he had two fish with him – nice Coho – that needed to be dealt with. He got into quite a few more fish today – sounds like a day I should have been out there too 🙂

Fall fishing – Sep 22

One of the few overcast days in September – perfect day fishing for Coho in the Harrison. Except the Coho didn’t think so. But we got into quite a few cutthroat trout in the morning which was fun. But they took off after a while and all we caught after that were weeds and or white fish. We walked around quite a bit to find the fish – but all we found was some domestic mammals and wild birds. Great picture opportunities though. A good way to spend a day outside. For a while I curled up on the beach with my book too.
